zanzi-bar, sneak peek

Yesterday I finally got it.

It caaaaaaaaaaaaame!!! It’s Here!!!! It’s MINE, MINE, MINE.

So, anyway, since I got it, it was only fair that I tested it immediately. And what better place than a poorly lit theater. I shot Bolero’s Zanzi-bar dance show. I was there at the rehearsal so I had the chance to move around freely. Before I let you know anything more, just two quick shots. Nothing special, really… After I have some time available to sort through them all, I’ll post more.

Can anybody guess what I bought myself for Christmas? :-)

Leaf-fat

Two days ago, Špela (otherwise from MKoncerti) called me and asked if I would like to come to the promotional concert for Leaf-fat’s new album. I don’t usually listen to this type of music, but I really wanted to go — it’s been a while since I picked up the camera, and I needed a challenge. The show was good, the energy was amazing, the light, unfortunately, was really bad. It was actually so bad we had to use flash for the most part. But it was a challenge and a fun one.

So thanks Špela :-).

the hidden details

After having looked for a particular image in my image collection, I stumbled upon this one from my shoot with Neža (here, and here). I don’t really know why, but I like it. So I decided to post it :-).

Bruc 07

After a fairly hectic week I finally have some time to post a couple of pics from bruc 07.

The whole thing was divided onto three stages, but I avoided the dance/techno one for trying to avoid an ever larger headache than I already had. On two other stages, we were able to see the performances of Superlizo, Intimn Frizurn, Zmelkoow, Klemen Klemen, Leeloojamais, Big Foot Mama, Mosaic, McLaren, Rock Partyzani, Tide, The Beet Fleet and Jan Plestenjak. I’ve seen most of them before, for example McLaren (I was pretty impressed the last time I heard them), Tide (Iron Maiden concert, but no photos), Jan Plestenjak (1,2,3), Big foot Mama, Klemen Klemen and Leeloojamais.

The only thing I was really unimpressed with, were Leloojamais. I’m sorry, the new singer just doesn’t do it for me. She doesn’t have a good voice, and that’s that. It doesn’t fit the music… I’m sorry, but that’s how I think. I’m sure Mih@, who was also there, would disagree though ;-). But that’s cool, as long as you can argument everything reasonably (i.e. our Mac & Vista/Windows debate, right Miha?).

Anyway, a couple of pictures. :-)

Tomorrow, I’m posting Jan Plestenjak and “his” panties so stay tuned.

happy december

And so it starts…. the December. And it started with my company’s new year party. Just two pictures, to show how it’s been. I’ll post more in the upcoming days :-).

Yes, we had Soul Fingers playing, and we had dancers on the bar :-). We also had 450 guests and a lot of food & drinks. It’s been fun, I’ll say that.

aspiring guitarist

After helping us build our band’s practice room it was only fair that we invited Jan for our first “impromptu” session. I had my camera with me, besides my guitar, and I snapped this photo. It’s a bit old, but I just found it and I like it…

a signature…

A signature can mean a lot to people… it can be something as simple as an autograph from a favorite band… it can be a signature from a client that a project is finished… it can be a signature on the marriage certificate list… But a lot of times, a signature brings happiness ;-).

As was the case with the signature that encouraged this post — a project was finished, or rather, the customer signed the acceptance list. So congrats to those from my team involved in the project (I can’t go into specifics but hey, it’s the thought that counts).

The picture is from a colleague’s son’s wedding.

Neža - part II

I promised more photos from Neža’s session. Aside from the promised portraits I’ve also found some more pics I like with, the classic ballet poses.

Now, as for the portraits, I tried using counter-light a little bit, but apart from that, I just wanted to experiment a little bit with two flashes.

I’ve also played around in Photoshop a little bit and came up with this:Neza

What do you guys and girls think? I’d really like to hear comments, specially for the last series of pictures — is it too much? :-)

Neža

I had this idea in my head for a long time… It involved a tutu, and an abandoned building with large windows. I’ve been inside Tovarna Rog once, and I wanted it to be my location. However, to shoot inside, usually, you need permission from the municipality. And I must say that the people I dealt with (Kristina Novak, and Jerneja Batič) were extremely helpful and friendly. Anyway, once I got the permissions, I wanted to get a little bit of extra help… this involved one borrowed SB-800 (tnx Jan), one make-up artist (tnx Anja), a reflector (tnx Samo), an assistant (tnx Urša) and a ballerina (tnx Neža :-)).

So, here are the photos… I did two separate series, and I’ll post the other one later this week.

Comments are greatly appreciated.

Afterlight

Most of you probably saw it, and I hope those of you with better views than mine also took a picture. But the light was amazing. Orangy-blue, warm and mysterious…. Very nice… A quick snapshot:
