Today, I just got home from a Microsoft event - the launch of the new product wave (Visual Studio 2008, Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008) with events entitled “Heroes happen{here}”.

Anyway, after a full day of lectures, it was time for the closing party. Before and after of the finale of the game Guitar Hero for XBOX 360 (I was second ), the crowd was entertained by a band called Rock Partyzani. I already heard them once (Bruc 07) but this time, I had a very rare opportunity of being more or less THE ONLY crowd. There were about 80 people (at the start), and only about 20-30 after the finale. And none of them were close to the stage so it gave me the ideal chance to keep move and scour for opportunities.

Finally!!! A concert again. You can’t imagine how good it felt to shoot a concert again. Especially Nightwish. For me, the concert was good. Anette did a good job at the latest songs, but obviously, with the older ones, Tarja’s voice was sorely missed. But ok, things change.

Anyway, for the concert, I focused a lot on Emppu and his poses, because he’s known to be energetic through the whole concert, and generally a poser :-). As far as the pictures go, I’m not really that satisfied, partially because I’ve grown lazy because of the 70-200. And I need to buy myself a Lowepro 75 or something similar (suggestions anyone?) so I can change lenses a bit faster than with my current Kata R-103. Right… a bit off topic :). Here are the pics. I needed to get out and take a couple of photos. I called up Katja, and we looked for a spot. I found one in the most unlikely places of all, BTC.

The shoot was more fun than anything else, so we just winged it. I did however find a really good location for my next shoot. And I hope I’ll get a chance to use it.

I’m back. Sorry I’ve kept you waiting, but this year did not start out in a good way. Hopefully, it will improve. I’m certainly doing my best to help it. Because I was in a bad mood I didn’t feel like photographing.

But, today Tjaša and I went to see my grandmother in Krško. And since the weather was really, really nice, we stopped in Otočec on our way back. Since I took my camera with me, I couldn’t help myself and I took a few photos. I originally only wanted to take a couple snapshots, to keep as memories… But I decided to post one anyway.

But, I also wanted to post a photo Tjaša made :-). I rarely like my photos (photos of me), but this one… I don’t know, just seemed so… visionary :-).

For those of you who know me, you know what that gaze means.

I have a couple more I’d really like to share, but not right now. Maybe once. Soon. I hope.

As is custom, I would like to add my wishes and thoughts. I would like to wish you happiness, health, success but most of that, which you want and need the most. I wish you find those little moments of happiness, the moments that define our lives, and spend them with people who you care most about. Of course, I also wish you a new year full of such moments and full of the same people you care about. So again, have a happy new year. And many more!

The year 2007 is coming to an end. For me personally, the year was full of things I’ll want to remember for ever. It was full of moments that I want to keep and treasure. Unfortunately there were some events I would have changed, but none that I regret.

After doing some thinking on how I can describe the moments that meant the most to me, I decided on putting together a collage of pictures representing people, events, and memories of these moments. Each picture in the collage has a special meaning to me, and something nice related to it!

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all of my friends who lived the year with me. And all of you guys who keep reading my blog. Here’s to hoping many more years will come.

Today, after a game of Squash with Jan, we decided to check out Vlado Kreslin, who played in the city center. A switch of my racquet with my Nikon, and we were off. I expected to take a shot or two from a distance. But when we got there I went to the security guards, and managed to convince them to let me in for a song.

I like a couple of other photos, but this one, to me, really stands out so I’m posting only this one.

Aside from the concert, I also took a quick, handheld picture of Čopova. ISO 800, 70 mm, F 2.8 @ 1/20s, VR on.

Yesterday, Magnifico performed in Hala Tivoli, in Ljubljana. Magnifico really managed to shock the general public after having handed out 100.000 copies of his new CD along with Delo. Anyway, the concert was great, Magnifico and the boys really know how to throw a party :-). But, what I didn’t like was the crowd under the stage. Having all of Slovenia’s metrosexuals in a crowded space leads to confusion and loss of common sense it seems :-). Anyway, here are a few pictures.

So, some of you know it already, some guessed it, I got a new lens a couple of days ago. And the same day I went out and tested it. I had a chance to take a few photos of Bolero’s Zanzi-bar show at Špas Teater. A promo spot can be viewed here. I did see the show on the first night, but that didn’t help me a lot when I tried to capture a few moments. The dancing is just way too fast. Not to mention the light wasn’t that great. It was super-bright in the center, and really weak towards the edge. Anyway, hopefully, next time, I’ll get more than 10 minutes to do group shots, and will be able to tell them how to stand :-).

So, anyway, since I got it, it was only fair that I tested it immediately. And what better place than a poorly lit theater. I shot Bolero’s Zanzi-bar dance show. I was there at the rehearsal so I had the chance to move around freely. Before I let you know anything more, just two quick shots. Nothing special, really… After I have some time available to sort through them all, I’ll post more.

Can anybody guess what I bought myself for Christmas?

Two days ago, Špela (otherwise from MKoncerti) called me and asked if I would like to come to the promotional concert for Leaf-fat’s new album. I don’t usually listen to this type of music, but I really wanted to go — it’s been a while since I picked up the camera, and I needed a challenge. The show was good, the energy was amazing, the light, unfortunately, was really bad. It was actually so bad we had to use flash for the most part. But it was a challenge and a fun one.
