After a long hiatus I’ve finally gone out to a concert and took some pictures. I’ve been visiting concerts lately, but only as a listener. I must have seen at least a gazillion Tabu concerts :-). But I still enjoy every single one of them ;-). Anyway, the past weekend, in Koper, the unions of Slovenia organized a concert of a couple bands. Two of them I managed to catch, arriving just in time for the start of Rock Partyzani, followed shortly thereafter by, Big Foot Mama (Škisova 2008, Graduation Parade 2008 and Bruc 07).

After a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong wait, I finally had some time to photograph a concert. It’s been a while, and I forgot what I was like. I enjoy that… I have to do it more often. But I’ve been really busy, even though I’ve quit my job (I am looking for a new one – but am very relaxed about it) – I’ve been recording with my band, doing stuff here and there, learning to play the piano, getting a bass guitar, started modeling my own studio (a small, yet cosy room ), etc. So yeah, it’s been fun. Anyway, I hope I’ll be visiting a few good, upcoming concerts and take some photos. If nothing else, I’ll probably have a studio picture or two to post (hopefully). Right, until then, Laibach. Most of you know who they are. I’ve already shot them once before. The concert was pretty good, the show routine, but interesting. The lights were, in my opinion better than usual.

After what can only be dubbed an organizational fiasco, we somehow managed to get beneath the stage where one of Rap’s greatest icons was due to perform. Snoop Dogg himself. I’m not much of a rap fan myself but I must admit I kind of liked the ambience he created – being high or not.

Finally, some time to post something new to the blog. I’ve been less active here for a while, but it’s because I haven’t been to a lot of concerts lately. I just didn’t have the time.

A couple weeks ago, there was a concert at Vransko. The concert was named Vransko Summer Night, and we witnessed performances by Big Foot Mama, Pankrti and finally, Tabu.

Yes, I’ve finally got enough time to write something to my blog again. There have been a number of interesting developments in my life recently, one of which is that I no longer work at eCTRL. My future plans will be revealed at the end of August, but I’m excited. Very excited :-).

There are a lot of things I have on my queue right now (photography wise), but I’ve decided to start with Alya. I’ve been to her concert in Porotorož. As with other concerts in the Avditorij this year (Gušti in Polona, Hladno Pivo and Leeloojamais), there were about 20 people present. Really a shame, as Alya showed she still has it.

On Thursday, a bit late in the day, I got news that I have received a photo pass for R.E.M. that evening in Udine, Italy. Well, technically, in Vila Manin. I covered the event for Delo.si here.

The drive to Udine was fast (I did have good company ), but parking… Holly crap. We parked a kilometer away. And we could easily have driven closer to the venue. But we were told by the organizers that there are 10.000 people expected, so we decided to park where the masses parked :-). Next time, I don’t plan on making that mistake.

Tonight, Ljubljana’s Hala Tivoli was filled with fans of Seal’s dance-flavored music. Known by his stage name, his original name is a bit longer, Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel. Most people also know him for his marriage to the world famous super-model Heidi Klum, who unfortunately was not present today.

His performance today was an interesting one, although not really my taste. What really impressed me was the amount of crowd interaction he had.

Originally, I thought I’ll be photographing Judas Priest down in Zagreb. However, Glenn Tipton got sick (I think his appendix was the culprit). Thankfully, I got a chance of photographing Status Quo.

Admittedly, before the concert, I didn’t know a lot about them, I just knew a couple of their legendary songs like In the army now, Rockin’ all over the world and Whatever you want. I’m a fan now :).

I’m so far behind with posting that it’s a shame :). I have a lot of interesting stuff I want to post, including a shoot I did recently with a friend.

Anyway, I’ll start somewhere in the middle, with Capris’s open air concert in Koper. Radio Capris organized their annual concert, this time, at a rather unusual spot, besides the Bonifika sporting center. We were able to see bands like Noom8, HeaveniX, Sons, Rudi Bučar, Tabu, Dan D, Vlado Kreslin, and headliners Siddharta. The concert would be just as good, if not better, if it stopped with Vlado Kreslin. Anyway, the event was fantastic, the organization was great.

My friends had a gig recently in Orto Bar. They were the opening act for a group called Puppetz. Interestingly enough though, there were more people there when they started than when Puppetz began :). The performance I saw was great.

Even though Miha, who was also there, speculates the crowd dissolved due to heat, I have this crazy suspicion that more people were there to see world :: within  than Puppetz. It’s not impossible.

Anyway, I also had a chance to try out a 10-22 mm lens borrowed from Jan (the lead singer ), so I did a couple test shots before they went on stage.
