Katie Melua & Andrea MCEwan @ Hala Tivoli

Ljubljana, 27.4.2008 in Hala Tivoli, saw the performance of Katie Melua. She plays acoustic folk-pop with mixes of blues, jazz and some rock. Before her, a fairly unknown singer went on stage, Andrea McEwan. I didn’t know what to expect from either of them (I’ve heard one or two songs from Katie before, but that’s it) and was pleasantly surprised after the show. Apart from excellent performances, we witnessed a really dynamic show. The people could have shown a bit more enthusiasm, but hey… that’s Ljubljana’s calm crowd :-).

    Saw both of them at the Albert Hall last night - both excellent. Katie is a real bundle of energy and has a superb backing band.

    Half that backing band plays for Andrea :-). I think that’s interesting to note because it means that that same backing band is on stage the whole night, and is still capable of giving that extra something.
